CONTEST OVERVIEW
FIATA (International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations) was founded in 1926, with the main mission of being the official representative organization – “the global voice of the forwarding and logistics services industry” to promote comprehensive industry development. Currently, the Federation has about 40,000 member companies in more than 150 countries with a total number of employees of over 10 million people. With a 94-year history, FIATA is taking on the duties of a consulting body for the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC); United Nations Trade and Development Organization (UNCTAD) and United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).
During the FIATA World Congress (FWC) in Caracas in October 1996, the TT Club (International Transport and Logistics Insurance) discussed with FIATA the organization of the “TT Club/FIATA” competition. Young Freight Forwarder of the Year Award” and the contest started in 1999. In 2021, TT Club and FIATA have decided to change the name of the “Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year Award” (YIFFYA) competition to “Young Logistics Professionals Award” (YLP Award). - Priority is given to candidates with more than two years of full-time work experience in the Logistics and supply chain industry.
